The ceremonial awarding of the Central Bank of Montenegro Annual Award for 2023 in banking and monetary policy and theory was held today on the occasion of the Central Bank of Montenegro Day, 11 April.
The Commission, consisting of prominent professors from universities in Montenegro and the region and the CBCG experts, awarded the prize for the best graduate thesis to Adrijana Orbović for the paper “Market Risks in the Banking Sector”.
The prize for the best master’s thesis category was shared equally by Tanja Mirotić for the paper “Macroeconomic Model of the Phillips Curve – The Case Study of Montenegro” and Vjera Vučković for the paper “Analysis of the Islamic Banking Model in the MENA Region”. This year, the CBCG did not present the Award for the best doctoral thesis.
Zorica Kalezić, the CBCG Vice-Governor and the President of the Commission for the Annual Award Awarding, presented the awards to winners.
“Reading and analysing papers, we notice quoting increasingly advanced literature, using empirical models and their verification and advanced ways of testing hypotheses year after year. Considering that knowledge is the basic pillar of a society’s development, the CBCG continues its mission of investing in developing scientific thought in Montenegro,” said Kalezić.
The CBCG Annual Award was established in 2007 to encourage the development of scientific thought and promote young professionals in Montenegro. It consists of the plaque and the cash amount of 2,000 euros for the best diploma/specialist thesis, 3,000 euros for the best master’s thesis, and 4,000 euros for the best doctoral thesis. Since its establishment in 2007, 49 graduates, masters and PhDs have received the CBCG Award.
On the occasion of CBCG Day, a lecture on the “CBCG Role and Function” was held at the Money Museum in Cetinje for the pupils of the old capital’s Grammar School.
Celebrating CBCG Day will traditionally end with a voluntary blood donation campaign by the CBCG employees.
