CBCG awarded Annual Awards for the best diploma thesis, master’s thesis, and doctoral thesis

The ceremonial awarding of the Central Bank of Montenegro Annual Award for 2022 in banking and monetary policy and theory was held today on the occasion of the Central Bank of Montenegro Day, 11 April.


Alberta Bikaj received the award for the best diploma thesis for the paper “Digitisation of payments.” The best master’s thesis award went to Jelena Drašković’s paper “Analysis of determinants and procedures for managing a non-performing loans portfolio on the example of Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina”. In the doctoral theses category, the award was given to Martin Bojaj for the doctoral thesis “Maintaining price stability in Montenegro through governance of external and internal factors of inflation”.


The awards were decided by a commission consisting of prominent university professors from Montenegro, the region, and the CBCG experts.


The CBCG Vice-Governor Zorica Kalezić, the Annual Award Commission President, presented the awards. She noted, inter alia, “We are proud that we had the opportunity to analyse over 20 high quality papers submitted to the CBCG competition this year. The Commission notices the constant progressing quality of the submitted papers, starting from the contemporaneous topics they analysed and the hypotheses they tested, to the use of analytical methods for testing the set hypotheses.


The CBCG Annual Award was established in 2007 to encourage the development of scientific thought and promote young professionals in Montenegro. It consists of the plaque and the cash amount of 2,000 euros for the best diploma thesis, 3,000 euros for the best master`s thesis, and 4,000 euros for the best doctoral thesis. Since its establishment, 46 graduates, masters and PhDs received the CBCG Award.
