A delegation of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) led by Governor Radoje Žugić met with senior officials of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York during the visit to the United States.

During the meeting, Governor Žugić highlighted activities undertaken by the CBCG on continuous harmonisation of domestic legislation with EU standards, CBCG measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, activities aimed at strengthening anti-money laundering function and other aspects of CBCG core functions development.

Special attention was paid to current macroeconomic trends and financial market developments, primarily in light of elevated inflationary levels and heightened geopolitical risks.

This meeting is a confirmation of a longstanding successful cooperation between the two institutions to be continued through the future bilateral activities. Participants of today’s meeting accepted the invitation of CBCG for a return visit.
