CBCG Governor Meets the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Representative


The CBCG Governor Radoje Žugić met today with the delegation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China led by the Advisor for Economic and Trade Affairs, Wang Changjiang.

Governor Žugić presented the condition in the banking sector and the CBCG activities on preserving the banking system’s soundness and strengthening the financial stability.

The interlocutors discussed the current joint projects, focusing on the construction of the first route of the Bar-Boljare highway. They stated that it was a very successful project that brought multiple positive effects through improved transport safety, better and closer connections and stimulus for the economic development of Montenegro’s north.

Pointing to the room to better improve the cooperation of the People’s Republic of China and Montenegro, Mr Changjiang noted the Embassy’s readiness to contribute to stronger economic connections between the two countries by encouraging Chinese investors to invest more in our country, which has significant undervalorised resources. They jointly assessed that the investments using the public-private partnership model should be directed to infrastructure projects and sectors of energy, output and tourism to diversify the domestic economy and increase exports.
