CLARIFICATION

With regard to media reports claiming that the Development Bank of Montenegro is “ caught in an administrative stalemate between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG)” and that it “does not have an open payment account with the CBCG”, for the purpose of providing the public with accurate information in accordance with the Law on Media, the CBCG issues the following:
CLARIFICATION
Until today, the Development Bank of Montenegro has not submitted a request to open an account in the domestic payment system operated by the CBCG.
Therefore, the CBCG could not act on a request that has not been submitted, and the CBCG and the Ministry of Finance are not involved in any dispute or administrative stalemate regarding this matter.
The actions of the CBCG are fully in line with the law and with the same procedures that apply to all participants in the payment system.
The CBCG remains available to all institutions for technical and regulatory support.
