Governor meet with NLB bank representatives

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Ms Irena Radović, and her associates met today with the President of the Management Board of NLB Banka AD Podgorica, Mr. Martin Leberle, and a member of the Supervisory Board of this bank, Mr. Igor Macura.

Discussions at the meeting covered the results of NLB Bank's operations, the bank`s goals and plans for the upcoming period, especially with regard to the public takeover offer of NLB d.d. Ljubljana aimed at acquiring control over Addiko Bank AG, Vienna. 

The Governor Radović additionally expressed her belief that, in the coming period, NLB Bank will continue to effectively support the Central Bank's initiative for interest rates reduction in order to preserve the standard of living of Montenegro`s citizens and support economic development.

Also, the Governor informed the NLB Bank representatives about the achievements of the Central Bank regarding the alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis communautaire, the submitted application for joining the SEPA, as well as about the plans for amendments to the banking regulatory framework.

The importance of continued communication and cooperation towards achieving common goals was highlighted as well, especially when it comes to a further strengthening of the banking system whilst preserving financial stability.
