Governor Meets with the Management of NLB Bank
The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr. Radoje Žugić, and his associates met with the Chief Executive Officer of NLB Bank, Mr. Martin Leberle, and with Mr. Archibald Kremser, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NLB Bank, AD Podgorica, who joined the conversation via the Skype for Business application.
The topics discussed covered the operations of NLB Bank in Montenegro in the light of the current situation, as well as the bank`s prospects and plans in the coming period.
The NLB Bank representatives communicated that the Bank intends to continue with the commenced activities on its regional expansion and the takeover of Komercijalna banka Beograd, which will be an additional challenge in achieving the planned business goals of NLB Bank due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the Bank will certainly continue to support its clients in Montenegro having sustainability potential.
They also expressed their readiness to continue with activities regarding the implementation of the AQR project and expressed their interest in the activities of the Central Bank in the preparation of relevant secondary legislation based on the new Law on Credit Institutions.
In addition, the importance of preserving financial stability and liquidity of the banking sector was highlighted, as well as the great importance of support that banks in Montenegro receive from their parent banks from abroad.
In the conclusion, the interlocutors agreed that open and constructive talks will continue in the future.
