Governor Radović Meets H.E. Ambassador Gansen: Strong Foundation for Continued Cooperation between the CBCG and German Partners

CBCG Governor Dr Irena Radović met today with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Montenegro, H.E. Edgar Alfred Gansen, to discuss current economic and financial developments, the European integration process and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in areas relevant to the CBCG. The meeting was also attended by Enis Čindrak, Economic Policy Adviser at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Governor Radović briefed Ambassador Gansen on developments in the financial sector, the CBCG’s priorities and the reforms being implemented by the institution within its mandate. She placed particular emphasis on activities aimed at further strengthening institutional capacities and aligning the regulatory, supervisory and operational frameworks with the standards of the European Union and the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
Particular attention was devoted to cooperation with the Deutsche Bundesbank, one of the CBCG’s most important partners in its institutional transformation, capacity building and preparations for future integration into the ESCB and, at a later stage, the Eurosystem.
H.E. Ambassador Gansen expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about the CBCG’s priorities and activities at the beginning of his tenure. He highlighted the importance of the reforms underpinning Montenegro’s European integration process and confirmed the Embassy’s readiness to support continued constructive dialogue and stronger links between relevant institutions in the two countries, within the scope of its responsibilities.
Governor Radović and H.E. Ambassador Gansen agreed that there was a strong foundation for continued direct and substantive cooperation between the CBCG, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and German institutions, particularly in areas relevant to the further development and European integration of Montenegro’s financial system.
In closing, Governor Radović wished H.E. Ambassador Gansen a successful tenure in Montenegro and expressed her confidence that his diplomatic mission would further contribute to strengthening institutional relations between the two countries.
