The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Radoje Žugić, met today with the Ambassador of Japan to Serbia and Montenegro, Junichi Maruyama.

Governor Žugić presented the structure and condition of the financial system of Montenegro, as well as the activities that the CBCG conducts with the aim to further improve the banking sector.
The current issues related to resolving the situation in Atlas and IBM Bank were also discussed at the meeting. The two exchanged experiences of both countries on this matter and agreed that the key task of each central bank is to preserve the stability of the financial system. "Having this in mind, the CBCG is carrying out difficult measures, which will, after completion, further strengthen the banking system."
It was agreed to intensify the cooperation between the CBCG and the Embassy of Japan in the upcoming period.
