Meeting with representatives of CKB and Podgorička Banka


Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) , Mr. Radoje Žugić, met today with the Chief Executive Officer of Crnogorska komercijalna banka, Mr. Pal Kovacs, and the Chief Executive Officer of Podgorička banka, Mr.  Milorad Katnić.

The topic of today’s meeting was the activities of CKB Bank and its plans to merge with Podgorička banka, which is 100% under its ownership. In that sense, Mr. Kovacs said that CKB had defined a precise plan of activities and set working teams and deadlines for their implementation. “We intend to carry out this demanding process of adapting the system to the planned merger of the two banks professionally and efficiently, while at the same time preserving our business position and improving all business segments in both banks,” Kovacs said.

Governor Žugić emphasized that, under its legal powers, the CBCG will closely monitor all announced activities of CKB, to preserve healthy competition in the market and further strengthen the banking sector’s stability.

At this meeting, the counterparts agreed to continue coordination and communication regarding future activities.
