18/10/2023

The CBCG Governor Radoje Žugić met today with the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) senior officials, Isabel Pastor and Damien Shanahan. The President of Montenegro’s Capital Market Authority, Željko Drinčić, also attended the meeting.

The discussions included the Montenegrin financial market’s condition and the perspective of its future development. They agreed that developing a modern and transparent capital market in Montenegro is a prerequisite for its more dynamic economic progress. In this direction, cooperation with international partners such as IOSCO, which gathers over 150 members - national capital markets authorities and sets standards for the securities sector, is valuable to Montenegro.

“To preserve financial stability, cooperation with your organisation is of utmost importance to us in terms of applying internationally recognised regulatory standards and in the field of information exchange at the regional and global level,” said the Governor.

Mrs. Pastor commended the CBCG efforts on Montenegro’s accession to the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA).
