Meetings in Washington continued

Continuing the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank spring meetings, the CBCG and Ministry of Finance representatives met with IMF high officials Paul Hilbers, the Executive Director, Alfred Kammer, the Director of the European Department, and Srikant Seshadri, Head of the IMF Mission to Montenegro. 

At the meetings, they noted good Montenegro’s financial sector position. They agreed to continue supporting the CBCG to preserve the institution’s independence and improve the regulatory framework.

Governor Žugić and Minister Damjanović also attended the Belgian-Dutch Constituency meeting, where they discussed the upcoming annual Constituency Meeting in Montenegro this May. At the meeting, they agreed on the agenda of this important international meeting, where the participants will have the opportunity to discuss the IMF and the World Bank policies and programmes and other vital issues for the European and world economy in light of the adverse macroeconomic environment and internal and external vulnerabilities.
