Mr. Ernst Welteke, a distinguished financial and banking expert, visits the CBCG

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Radoje Žugić, welcomed the former President of the Deutsche Bundesbank and former Minister in the federal state of Hesse in the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Ernst Welteke.

In an open and cordial conversation, Mr. Welteke informed the Governor that he regularly monitors the developments in the banking system of Montenegro and praised the activities of the CBCG aimed at strengthening the stability of the banking system and financial stability as a whole.

The Governor presented the situation in the banking sector to Mr. Welteke and stressed that all future activities of the CBCG are focused on strengthening its institutional and supervisory capacities, especially in the area of bank supervision, anti-money laundering and payment transactions.

Mr. Welteke, who was the President of the Deutsche Bundesbank when the last Deutsche Mark was printed, bearing his signature, expressed the desire to give one such banknote to the Money Museum of the CBCG in Cetinje when he visits Montenegro next time.
