The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Radoje Žugić, held a meeting today with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NLB Bank AD Podgorica, Archibald Kremser, who is also a member of the Management Board of NLB d.d, and Chief Executive Director of the NLB Bank, Martin Leberle.

Mr Kremser and Mr Leberle informed the Governor Žugić on the operations of the NLB Bank AD Podgorica and on the plans for the following period. Mr Kremser emphasised that Montenegro represents an important market for the NLB Group, and therefore the Bank plans to focus on the strengthening of its position in the Montenegrin market through the investments in the improvement of technologies and the modernisation of the banking services.

The Governor Žugić pointed out that the NLB Bank is adequately capitalised, profitable and liquid, and expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation the Central Bank has had with the Bank's management so far.

The interlocutors agreed in their assessment that the maintenance of the safety and stability of the financial system is the mutual objective of both the CBCG as a regulator and all banks operating in Montenegro, and that all banks should respect the principles of loyal and fair competition.
