Prime Minister Marković and Governor Žugić: Government and the CBCG to create a set of mitigation measures COVID - 19

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Duško Marković spoke with the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Radoje Žugić, with the aim that the Government and the CBCG, in cooperation with commercial banks, create a set of measures aimed at minimising the negative impact of COVID - 19 on the economy, citizens, and the economy.

The Prime Minister pointed out the health of Montenegrin citizens as a priority, as well as to maintain economic performance and economic activity.


“We are aware of the position or our citizens and the most considerable portion of the economy. We endeavour to respond swiftly and adequately to mitigate the adverse effects that the whole world will have on the coronavirus pandemic“, said Prime Minister Marković.


Governor Žugić said that the CBCG is already committed to preparing a set of measures. The interlocutors agreed on the importance to implement them during the crisis caused by the coronavirus and during the short recovery period.


The Prime Minister pointed out that the whole system has shown to be functioning so far during this crisis situation with everyone bearing responsibility.
