Strengthen the cooperation between Montenegro and USA

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr Radoje Žugić, met today with the US Ambassador to Montenegro, Ms Judy Rising Reinke. Mr Ichak Adizes, a founder and CEO of Adizes Institute, in Santa Barbara (USA) and Kyle Hatcher, Deputy Chief of the Political and Economic Section in the US Embassy to Montenegro also attended the meeting.

The Governor Žugić introduced the interlocutors with the main macroeconomic data and the situation in the banking sector, as well as the activities the CBCG is carrying out in order to strengthen the regulatory framework and supervisory resources and to improve the mechanisms for anti-money laundering and terrorist financing. The Governor communicated that the banking system is stable and reinforced, and he introduced the US Ambassador with the situation in the Atlas Bank and the activities taken by the temporary administration in that bank. 

The interlocutors expressed their readiness to contribute to the strengthening of relations between Montenegro and the USA, particularly in the economic area. Entrepreneurship and small businesses are recognised as areas where the USA could provide assistance to Montenegro.
