ANNOUNCEMENT: Press conference on the occasion of launching the program of technical cooperation with the European Central Bank

The “Program of technical cooperation with the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) towards a membership in the European System of Central Banks (ESCB)" project will officially commence with the press conference to be held on 9 September 2014.
The speakers at the press conference will be the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr. Milojca Dakić, the Director General of the Directorate General International and European Relations in the ECB, Mr. Frank Moss, and the Head of Political, European Integration and Trade Section in the EU Delegation in Podgorica, Mr. Alberto Cammarata.
The European Union granted funding in the amount of 300,000 euros for the project that will last for seven months. The project will be implemented in cooperation with the CBCG, the European Central Bank (ECB) and ten partner national central banks from the Eurosystem (ESCB).
The project aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the degree of compliance of the CBCG standards with the EU central banking standards, thus contributing to the strengthening of institutional capacities of the CBCG.
The project proposal that was jointly prepared by the CBCG and the ECB covers six business areas: financial stability, statistics, financial and banking operations (excluding international reserves management), accounting, operational risk and business continuity, and European integration.
The press conference will be held in the premises of the EU Info Centre (street: 19. decembra bb, Podgorica), starting at 11.00 am.
