Today, the CBCG hosted a delegation of 30 young professionals from the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who are visiting Montenegro on a study trip aimed at gaining insight into the country’s institutional framework, economic development and European integration process.

Welcoming the guests, CBCG Governor Irena Radović presented the key responsibilities and activities of the CBCG, with particular emphasis on the institution’s reforms implemented as part of Montenegro’s preparations for future membership of the European Union, the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem.

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn about the CBCG’s role in the European integration process, Montenegro’s monetary framework, current macroeconomic developments, the payment infrastructure modernisation, the euro convergence process, the CBCG’s role as fiscal agent, as well as the activities of the CBCG in financial education.

Governor Radović highlighted that Montenegro and the Netherlands maintain friendly and partner-based relations founded on open cooperation, knowledge exchange and support for reform processes.

“Knowledge and experience sharing among young professionals represents one of the most valuable investments in Europe’s future. It is your generation that will shape public policies, make important decisions and build bridges of cooperation between institutions and countries in the years ahead. For this reason, we view visits such as this as an investment in future partnerships and an opportunity to learn from one another,” Governor Radović stated.

Speaking about cooperation with Dutch institutions, the Governor highlighted the significant contribution made by the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) to the development of the CBCG’s institutional capacities, particularly through the Needs Assessment Project for future membership of the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem, in which DNB is one of the key partners.

“For us, the DNB is an important partner on the path towards institutional transformation and European integration. We particularly value the longstanding cooperation and expert support that the CBCG enjoys with Dutch institutions, both through DNB activities and through cooperation within our shared constituency in the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Such partnerships contribute to strengthening institutional capacities, facilitating knowledge exchange and ensuring the successful implementation of reforms on our path towards full integration into European financial and institutional structures,” Governor Radović said.

As part of the visit programme, lectures and presentations were also delivered by Vice Governor Zorica Kalezić, Director of the Financial Stability, Research and Statistics Department Marijana Mitrović Mijatović, Director of the Financial and Banking Operations Department Jelena Janković, and Communications Directorate Coordinator Marija Radenović.
