CBCG Launches Call for Applications for the CBCG Green Award 2026
29/05/2026
The CBCG has announced a call for applications for the CBCG Green Award 2026.
Established in 2023, the Award aims to encourage academic research and raise public awareness of the challenges posed by climate change, with particular emphasis on its impact on the financial system.
The CBCG Green Award, presented annually on 20 September, the Ecological State Day of Montenegro, consists of a plaque and a cash prize of 3,000 euros.
Applications are open to Montenegrin citizens who have obtained a higher education qualification of at least Level VI, or 180 ECTS credits, from a university, faculty, or higher education institution in Montenegro or abroad. The deadline for submitting papers is 14 August 2026.
Submitted papers should demonstrate innovation and provide a theoretical and empirical contribution to promoting best practices in addressing climate change challenges and their impact on financial system stability. In particular, papers should be relevant to the activities of central banks and other financial system regulators and supervisors, international organisations and institutions, credit institutions, and/or other participants in the financial system. Submitted papers must not have been previously published, nor simultaneously submitted for consideration or accepted for publication by other institutions or journals.
Through the CBCG Green Award and other activities envisaged under the Roadmap of the Financial Sector towards Sustainable Finance, adopted by the Financial Stability Council in 2025, the CBCG continues to contribute to raising public awareness of the challenges associated with climate-related risks. At the same time, it encourages credit institutions and other financial system participants to intensify their efforts to identify and mitigate these risks within their operations.
