“Our most important tasks in the coming period will be to preserve stability and confidence in our financial system while providing the conditions for its stronger contribution to economic growth and development,” said the CBCG Governor, Irena Radović, PhD, at the meeting with the management board chairmen of banks operating in Montenegro.
The Governor said that the CBCG would create conditions for the banking sector’s further development in the best interest of citizens and the economy, stressing that it would strictly follow the principles of non-selectivity and objectivity in treating banks. “In the coming period, the CBCG will focus on strengthening banking regulation and supervision and on providing support for innovations in the financial sector and the implementation of ESG standards,” said the Governor, emphasising the banks’ key role in the upcoming transformation and expressing the expectation of stronger synergy.
Expressing their full readiness to cooperate with the supervisor, bank representatives congratulated Governor Radović on her election to this crucial position and wished her success in work. “We will be your reliable partner, dedicated to cooperation and joint overcoming of all challenges and obstacles in the interest of a successful path towards integration into the system of European central banks”, pointed out Aleksa Lukić, President of the Management Board of the Association of Montenegrin Banks.
