Meeting of the CBCG Governor and the Future Ambassador of Montenegro to Argentina

01/04/2019

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Radoje Žugić, met today with Srđan Stanković, the future Ambassador of Montenegro to Argentina. The meeting was organized with the aim of preparing Mr Stanković for his appointment as the Ambassador of Montenegro to Argentina, on a resident basis, with the seat in Buenos Aires.

The two discussed possibilities for strengthening economic cooperation between Montenegro and Argentina.

Governor Žugić pointed out that the current economic cooperation between Montenegro and Argentina is insignificant both in the area of commodity exchange and investments, and that the exchange in the area of services relates mainly to traffic, and that Montenegro is recording a deficit even in such modest cooperation.

They agreed that the Montenegrin diaspora in Argentina has a great potential which, among other things, can be a good basis for intensifying and improving economic cooperation between the two countries.

Mr Stanković stressed he will endeavour to find new forms of cooperation between the two countries in his forthcoming mandate, with a special accent on the development of economic cooperation.
