During the working visit to Brussels, where the CBCG delegation had several important meetings with senior representatives of European institutions, the CBCG Governor, Ms Irena Radović, also met with the Director General of the Directorate for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), Mr Gert Jan Koopman.

At the meeting, they discussed the implemented and upcoming activities within the negotiation chapters 4 (Freedom of Capital Movement), 9 (Financial Services), and 17 (Economic and Monetary Policy) managed by the CBCG.
Governor Radović informed Director General Koopman that the CBCG established a Coordinating Body for Monitoring the EU Process. “This will further intensify our work to fulfil all obligations from closing benchmarks in the negotiation chapters managed by the CBCG in a timely and quality manner,” said Governor Radović.
The Governor also informed Mr Koopman of the intensive activities the CBCG, other regulators, the Government, and the Parliament of Montenegro carried out on harmonising domestic legislation with the acquis communautaire in areas important for fulfilling the SEPA criteria.
Director Koopman lauded these exceptional efforts, highlighting that the relevant European Commission bodies have recognised them.
They jointly assessed that Montenegro should take advantage of the current enlargement policy momentum and continue implementing key reforms in areas of strategic importance for accelerating economic growth and getting closer to the EU member states.
