Meeting with CKB Management


The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), Mr Radoje Žugić, met today with the management of Crnogorska komercijalna banka AD Podgorica, member of OTP Group (CKB) – Mr Miklós Németh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Tamás Kamarási, member of the Board of Directors, and Pál Kovács, the Chief Executive Officer.

The interlocutors referred to the implementation of the asset quality review process (AQR) and the completed process of merging Podgorička banka with CKB. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the AQR results. They pointed out that the merger of the two banks, one of the most complex projects on the Montenegrin financial market, was carried out very successfully.

Governor Žugić pointed out that CKB holds a leading position in the share of total loans, gross assets, total deposits and capital. The parameters of its operations are positive and stable, which contributes to strengthening the entire banking sector in Montenegro. “In the coming period, I expect CKB and everyone else to focus their policies on even stronger support for development projects, to give impetus to the started economic recovery,” said Governor Žugić.

Mr Németh pointed out that CKB has the strong support of the parent OTP group to continue the successful business, whose model is based on recognising the clients’ needs and responding quickly to them.

Frequent and open communication between CKB and the CBCG is an excellent example of efficient cooperation between a commercial bank and supervisor and of complete transparency of operations, it was concluded at today’s meeting.
