Parliament of Montenegro Reappoints Zorica Kalezić as Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro

Upon the proposal of the Governor Irena Radović, the Parliament of Montenegro has reappointed Zorica Kalezić as Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).

Zorica Kalezić has been employed in the CBCG since 2007 and appointed as Vice Governor on 27 December 2019.

She graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro in 2003 with an outstanding GPA of 9.92 and subsequently earned both her Master's and PhD in Economics from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom. She has gained extensive international experience through her work with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, where she was a representative and advisor on matters relating to Montenegro and region countries.

As Vice Governor, Dr Kalezić has played a leading role in the modernization of Montenegro's payment system and the country's European integration process. She chairs the National Payments Committee and has coordinated Montenegro's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) payment schemes, as well as the implementation of the TIPS Clone project – the national instant payment infrastructure – while ensuring the participation of all 11 banks operating in Montenegro.

In the area of European integration, Zorica Kalezić is Head of the Negotiating Working Group for Chapter 17 – Economic and Monetary Union. She has also made a significant contribution to the negotiation processes under Chapter 4 – Free Movement of Capital and Chapter 18 – Statistics.
