The Governor of the CBCG and the Minister of Finance meet the IMF delegation

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr Radoje Žugić, and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Darko Radunović, met the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by Mr Srikant Seshadri, the Head of the IMF Mission to Montenegro. The IMF team is visiting Montenegro to conduct regular consultations under Article IV of the IMF Articles of Association.

The counterparties discussed the general economic situation in Montenegro, with special focus on fiscal and financial sector. The Minister of Finance and the Governor of the CBCG presented the fiscal and banking sector indicators to the IMF team, as well as the activities that these institutions conducted on further strengthening of public finance and the banking sector.

The IMF representatives presented the recommendations the implementation of which would strengthen Montenegro’s economy resilience to external factors and support the more dynamic economic growth and development.

The Mission findings will be presented at the press conference scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 AM.
