13/03/2019
The representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration, the Ministry of Science, the Central Bank, and the Association of Montenegrin Banks held a meeting aimed at intensifying the activities defined in the action plan of the Programme of Incentives for Innovative Start-ups (2019-2021) that the Government adopted at the end of the previous year.
By adopting this Programme, the Government confirmed its commitment to creating a favourable environment that would encourage the development of initiatives in the corporate sector and the transformation of the economy into an innovative, entrepreneurial, and technologically oriented one. In addition, the Government and the CBCG initiated specific activities aimed at creating favourable conditions for economic entities from Montenegro to operate via the internet and, in that segment, showed that they are fully open to the operations of the company PayPal in Montenegro.
With a view to furthering said activities and reaching an agreement with PayPal on the entry of this company into Montenegrin market, it was agreed that a working group be established that would bring together the representatives of the public, business and civil sectors and engage in resolving the issues regarding the e-payment from abroad for the products and services from Montenegro (in cooperation with the companies already engaged in this project).
