2014 International Museum Day

Exhibition “New Montenegrin Coins”

The Central Bank of Montenegro Money Museum organised an exhibition entitled “New Montenegrin Coins”, on the occasion of the International Museum Day and in cooperation with the Secondary Art School “Petar Lubarda” from Cetinje. Sixteen works were presented. This year, owing to the CBCG prize competition for the best art work on the given topic, students also had the opportunity to show their creativity and skills using various techniques in producing coins.

Young artists showed their innovation by choosing motifs, characters as well as the names for Montenegrin coins. Therefore, the obverses and reverses were painted with the famous figures from Montenegrin history and culture, such as Peter Lubarda, Dado Đurić, Petar II Petrović Njegoš, Crown Prince Danilo, and some of the names included: Hackney-Carriage, Dinar, Lily and the Message.

The awarded students are Anđela Burić (the first prize in the amount of 300 Euro), Vladan Pejanović (the second prize in the amount of 200 Euro), while the third prize of 100 Euro was awarded to both Anica Damjanović and Jovana Kapisoda.
